  1. build instructions for Guide Additions Qualifier
  2.  
  3. Qualifier is a code resource which determines if the Guide Addition should be mixed
  4. into the main database in the Reno run time.  Each additions file has its own
  5. unique 'Qlfy'.
  6.  
  7. There are 4 qualifiers that  need to be built and rez into the 4 current guide 
  8. additions:
  9.  
  10. PowerBook Guide Additions
  11. Speech Additions
  12. Video Additions
  13. Video Player Guide Additions
  14.  
  15. The steps are the same for all of them.
  16.  
  17. I use PowerBook Guide Addition as an example,
  18.  
  19. 1.  use MPW 3.3.1 and above
  20. 2.  set directory to PowerBookQualifier folder
  21. 3.  drag the .o and resource file to trash and empty the trash
  22.     (they remain for verification purpose only)
  23. 4   in your worksheet, make the following build commands
  24.  
  25. make > make.out
  26. make.out
  27.  
  28. then compile
  29.  
  30. 5.  copy the 'QLfy' (w/ID 131) to the PowerBook Guide Additions database's 
  31.     resource folk
  32. 6.  save it
  33.  
  34. 7.  use Guide Maker to open the SCM built PowerBook Guide Additions 
  35.     (choose Open from File menu)
  36. 8.  choose menu item "Menu Appearance…" from "Utilities" menu
  37. 9.  in the Gestalt portion of dialog, put in 'QLfy' as the selector, 
  38.     131 as the value
  39. 10. close the dialog and save it, then you are done
  40. 11. repeat the same steps for the other 3 guide additions
  41.
